About MMMOCL

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has established the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) on 10th June, 2019 to carry out the “Operations and Maintenance” of all the upcoming Metro corridors in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The idea is to integrate the Operations and Maintenance of all Metro corridors under one authority with objectives as follows:

Towards a cleaner, greener future

    The Metro will promote and implement energy-saving initiatives such as:
  • Use clean and green power solutions, including LED light fixtures, roof-top-mounted solar plants, ACs with zero ozone depleting refrigerants.
  • Trains will regenerate almost 27% of its power requirement during braking hours.
  • Major equipment at metro stations such as escalator, lifts are fitted with variable-voltage / variable-frequency drives (V3F).
  • ACs at the metro stations will be that of 5-star ratings and VRF type.

For a safe and comfortable commute

  • Keeping passenger safety and comfort as the top most priority, it is ensured that the metro stations are well equipped with facilities like drinking water, public information displays, clocks, lifts with access for differently abled passengers, appropriate directional and informative signages.
  • The network is planned in such a manner that it integrates / interchanges with the existing suburban railway network and intends to increase ridership by improving first and last mile connectivity by promoting e-vehicles / e-mobility.
